Owen Wright, Assurance Director at Context, will be giving a presentation on the Spotlight Stage at the upcoming CyberUK in Practice conference, speaking about the ‘Next Steps in Red Team Penetration Testing’.
Day 1 Evening Reception – 24 May
18:35 at the Spotlight Stage
Security testing has undoubtedly evolved over the past decade. Recently the focus has been on ‘red teaming’ and ‘threat-led penetration testing’; performing a simulated targeted attack against an organisation to test its full capability to prevent, detect and respond to an attack.
As the Assurance Director at Context, Owen has supervised hundreds of penetration tests and security assessments, including simulated targeted attacks against some of the largest and most complex organisations in the world. He will discuss how Context’s approach to red team penetration testing has evolved over the last few years – and how he thinks it will continue to evolve in the next few – as well as touching on some of the common ways attackers get in and successful defender techniques he has observed.
CyberUK in Practice is organised by CESG and is a two day event bringing together cyber security and technology professionals from across the public sector, Critical National Infrastructure and industry. It will take place at the Arena and Conference Centre in Liverpool, from 24-25 May.
Owen Wright is the Assurance Director at Context Information Security, responsible for ensuring that the security testing services offered by Context are cutting edge, in an environment where the attackers are continually evolving.
